    Elderwood Senior Living in Lacaster, PA is currently looking to add to our team!


    The Medication Technician functions as a key member of the Resident Care Team and works under the supervision of the Director of Resident Care. The Medication Technician assumes responsibility for adequate training and proper work ethic of the Resident Care Assistants.


    These are part-time positions on the 3pm-11pm shift, requiring work on the weekends. You may need to occasionally cover on the 11pm-7am shift, if needed. 


    • Follow the policies and procedures of facility governing the administering of medications to residents
    • Takes initial corrective action procedures with Resident Care Assistants and then communicates with Director of Resident Care.
    • Communicating accurate condition reports to fellow staff members
    • Perform administrative requirements, such as completing necessary forms, charts, reports, etc., and submit these as may be required
    • Maintain a friendly, productive, working relationship with other members of team, attending physicians, the Medical Director, and pharmacists
    • Report any complaints or grievances made by residents to Director of Resident Care.
    • Distributing Resident Care Assistant assignments
    • Participate and cooperate with any facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies
    • Understands and complies with Corporate Compliance plan


    • Graduate of an accredited high school or GED.
    • Must be at least 18 years of age
    • previous experience in a similar role required  

    Specific Requirement:

    • Must possess the ability to make independent decision when circumstances warrant such action.
    • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, resident, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
    • Knowledge of elderly, ill, and/or disabled.
    • Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition an enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
    • Must be able to relate information concerning a resident’s condition.
    • Basic understanding of following step-by-step procedures.
    • Follows and understands written and oral directions.
    • Knowledge of equipment used in long-term care (e.g., lifts, wheelchairs, Geri chairs, and scales).
    • Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace. (With or without the aid of mechanical devices)
