    We have an exciting opportunity for a high energy, experienced Marketing & Communications professional to join our Elderwood Administrative Services team as the Vice President, Marketing and Communications. We are growing rapidly through acquisitions and need a strategic and innovative team player to drive our continued growth and success.  This position reports to the CEO and is located in Buffalo, NY.

    Elderwood was founded in 1978 and provides administrative and other support services to skilled nursing, assisted living, and independent living facilities in western, central, and northern New York, Rhode Island and Pennsylvania. We are part of a larger group of health care companies owned by Post Acute Partners which currently employs nearly 5,000 employees.

    Position Overview:

    The Vice President of Marketing and Communications develops and oversees both internal and external communications; leads our internal creative teams to support communications, public relations, publications, print shop, digital & social media, and our corporate website; serving as the primary resource for all aspects of marketing and communications. This person will provide operational leadership for the marketing department and will plan, develop and implement internal and external strategies. This person also will work closely with the Business/Census Development and Talent Acquisition teams to drive revenue, build census, capture market share and attract exceptional new hires in an ever-evolving healthcare landscape.


    • Develop programs and projects (targeting both internal and external audiences) to meet organizational brand and reputation goals.

    • Lead, manage and develop direct reports to achieve annual goals/objectives.

    • Ensure all communications are produced timely and on budget, and represent the highest standards of design and production quality.

    • Track the success of initiatives and work from metrics to continually improve results.

    • Leverage market research, customer, and competitive insights, to inform, evolve and strengthen marketing strategies as well as reach various audiences.

    • Manage the annual marketing budget; monitor expenses against budget throughout the year.

    • Oversee relationships with outside vendors, including public relations agencies and consultants. Source new vendors and partners, as needed.

    • Oversee media and community relations activities to bolster our Company’s reputation within our communities. Oversee requests from community organizations; review requests with executive management.

    • Support merger and acquisition activity as needed; providing communication and branding support and timely integration of core marketing & communications functions.

    • Build and maintain strong working relationships with various internal teams across the organization.


    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience, preferably in public relations, marketing, communications or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.

    • Minimum 10 years’ demonstrated expertise with message development and management across multiple communication channels including social media, communications, and public relations in a professional marketing environment.

    • Demonstrated fluency with digital media and social platforms for marketing and communication purposes including web analytics and content development for social media and online advertising.

    • General understanding of market research principles and demonstrated experience in managing market research projects.

    • Proven ability to manage large complex projects or multiple projects of moderate complexity.

    • In-bound marketing and recruitment marketing experience strongly desired.

    • Healthcare experience strongly preferred; Post-acute experience a plus.

    • Microsoft Office skills required.
