The Housekeeping/Laundry Supervisor team member assists with ensuring the health and well-being of our residents by being responsible for the staffing and operation of the Housekeeping/ Laundry Department.

Keep facility environment in a sanitary, odor free, attractive and orderly condition and develops a Master
Cleaning Schedule for daily, weekly, monthly and annual cleaning tasks.
Ensure an adequate supply of clean linens to meet the needs of residents and staff; oversee laundering of the personal clothing of residents.
Establish standards and work procedures for housekeeping and laundry staff in accordance with approved facility policies.
Plan work schedules and assign hours and area of work to housekeeping and laundry staff.
Interview, hire, evaluate and terminate employment of housekeeping and laundry personnel.
Conduct training and orientation of new department employees and demonstrate the use of departmental supplies and equipment.
Supervise and inspect daily the cleaning areas of Housekeeping Aides and the laundry services performed by Laundry Aides.
Ensure that infection control policies and procedures are followed by housekeeping/laundry staff.
Appraise the effectiveness of housekeeping and laundry supplies and equipment.
Conduct departmental staff meetings and meet with members of other departments to coordinate housekeeping and laundry services.
Plan or lead in-service programs for staff about housekeeping or laundry procedures.
Minimum 18 yrs. age required, HS diploma or equivalent preferred.
Two years of experience in housekeeping/laundry environment required.
Ability to lead and manage employees necessary.
Qualities of dependability, honesty, and discretion necessary.
Working knowledge of infection control and safety measures required.
Ability to maintain high standards of building cleanliness and orderliness, and care of linens and residents' clothing required.
