Responsibilities

Physician Assistant (PA-C) - Pediatrics; What You’ll 

 

As a Physician Assistant at PSC, you'll work closely with our physicians and interdisciplinary clinical team to provide comprehensive care to our pediatric residents. Responsibilities may include:

    • Perform comprehensive and focused physical examinations and clinical assessments
    • Evaluate acute and chronic medical conditions and changes in patient status
    • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians and the clinical team
    • Order, review, and interpret laboratory tests, diagnostic studies, and other clinical findings
    • Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with applicable licensure, authorization, and facility protocols
    • Participate in clinical rounds and interdisciplinary care planning
    • Communicate with families and caregivers regarding clinical conditions and plans of care
    • Respond to changes in condition and support appropriate clinical interventions
    • Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough clinical documentation
    • Collaborate with nursing, respiratory therapy, rehabilitation, and other clinical disciplines
    • Support quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical care initiatives

Qualifications

Physician Assistant (PA-C) - Pediatrics; What You Bring

  • Role Requirements & Qualifications

    • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
    • Current Physician Assistant license in Pennsylvania
    • Current NCCPA certification (PA-C)
    • Current CPR/BLS certification
    • Ability to practice and prescribe in accordance with Pennsylvania requirements and applicable collaborative/supervisory agreements
    • Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills
    • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
    • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team
    • Ability to successfully complete all required background checks, health screenings, clearances, and regulatory compliance requirements
    • Pediatric, acute-care, complex-care, long-term care, or experience working with medically fragile patients is strongly preferred.
