The nursing scheduler generates, manages and updates master schedules while making adjustments as needed according to budgetary constraints, census fluctuations, call-ins, and pre-planned leaves of absence.
Responsibilities
Follows the master staffing schedule
Communicates continuously with DON/ADON to ensure coordination of information and maintain accuracy of nursing schedule
Prepares daily staffing sheets with continual revisions as necessary
Follows facility policy and DON guidelines for numbers and assignment of staff
Completes a listing of vacant nursing positions for DON weekly
Schedules staff vacations according to established guidelines and the DON/ADON's direction
Ensures at least one other staff member is oriented to the scheduler’s position in the event of vacation, sick leave, etc.
Creates and maintains forms necessary for completion of scheduler's task
Respects the confidentiality and dignity of staff and residents
Reviews daily exception logs for payroll
Ensures all new employee orientation schedules are on staffing sheet.
Communicates regularly with agency contacts and maintains positive, proactive business relationship

Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or management staff
Qualifications
At least 1 year experience in health care staffing.
Prior experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Medication Technician (Med Tech) strongly preferred.
High school diploma or GED equivalent. Strong leadership and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Exceptional problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Prior experience with Kronos strongly preferred.
This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. In order to ensure a safe work environment for residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors of the Company, and to permit unfettered communication between the employee and those residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors, this position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.
