We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive Nursing Scheduler to join our team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring safe, appropriate staffing levels that support quality resident care.
Position Overview
The Nursing Scheduler is responsible for generating, managing, and updating master schedules for the nursing department. This position makes adjustments as needed based on census, budget, attendance, call-outs, benefits, and pre-planned leaves of absence. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role requiring strong organization, communication, and leadership skills.

Follow the master staffing schedule to ensure appropriate coverage for all clinical shifts.
Communicate continuously with the Director of Nursing (DON) and Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to maintain accurate and up-to-date schedules.
Prepare daily staffing sheets and revise throughout the day as needed.
Adhere to facility policies and DON/ADON guidelines for staffing numbers and assignments.
Maintain weekly listings of vacant nursing positions for DON review.
Schedule staff vacations in accordance with established guidelines and leadership direction.
Ensure at least one additional employee is trained in scheduling responsibilities to provide coverage during absences.
Create and maintain all forms necessary for scheduling and staffing processes.
Maintain confidentiality and uphold the dignity of staff and residents.
Review daily exception logs related to payroll.
Ensure all new employee orientation schedules are reflected accurately on staffing sheets.
Communicate regularly with external agency partners and maintain positive, professional working relationships.

Follow all compliance, HIPAA, and organizational policies.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in healthcare staffing.
Prior experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Medication Technician (Med Tech) strongly preferred.
High school diploma or GED required.
Strong leadership, organizational, and time-management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.
Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience with Kronos strongly preferred.
This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. In order to ensure a safe work environment for residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors of the Company, and to permit unfettered communication between the employee and those residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors, this position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.
