Elderwood at Cheektowaga is seeking experienced and outgoing Activity Leaders (Aides) to join our team!
We have full & part-time opportunities available.
Experience working with the geriatric population & planning recreation or activities is preferred.
What would you do as an Activity Leader?
An active social life is an essential aspect of life at Elderwood. Our activities leaders conduct enjoyable recreation programs that keep residents energized, engaged, and mentally stimulated. They meet with residents when they arrive and assess their likes, dislikes, goals, and interests, and document these appropriately. Activity Leaders are the heart of our facility - engaging, compassionate, and have a positive impact on the daily lives and mental and physical well-being of our residents.
Shift: Hours Vary; Mix of Mornings & Evenings

Minimum 18 yrs. age required, HS diploma or equivalent required.
Valid New York Driver’s License and clean driving record required.
Ability to develop good relationships with staff, volunteers, families and visitors required.
Ability to inspire and motivate others, create a warm and accepting climate for residents and be able to adapt and modify activities to meet their needs required.
Understanding of the rights and needs of residents required.
Physical stamina for constant activity required.
This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. In order to ensure a safe work environment for residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors of the Company, and to permit unfettered communication between the employee and those residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors, this position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.
