Are you an experienced Registered Nurse passionate about education and staff development? Join Elderwood as an RN Educator and play a vital role in shaping the skills and knowledge of our nursing team. You will collaborate with management and nursing leadership to deliver orientation, compliance training, and ongoing education programs that support the highest standards of care.
Develop, coordinate, and evaluate educational programs for facility personnel
Serve as primary instructor for Nursing Assistant Training Program and/or Infection Preventionist role
Participate in on-call and floor rotations

RN Educator Responsibilities:
Serve as a “super user” and resource for all clinical aspects of the EMR system
Schedule, teach, and lead BLS and IV certification programs; maintain related equipment and records
Perform staff vaccinations, health screenings, and other medical testing as assigned
Collaborate with nursing leadership to assist with annual clinical competency testing
Mentor Nurse Preceptors and new nurses during orientation
Coordinate and deliver mandatory corporate in-service education and general orientation programs
Oversee Nursing Assistant Training Program (NATP), including class instruction and certification testing
Track in-service education hours and compliance through LMS
Prepare monthly in-service education calendar and reports
Coordinate emergency drills and maintain documentation
Attend facility staff meetings and lead in-service education initiatives
Registered Professional Nurse with current NYS license required
Baccalaureate degree preferred
Minimum one year of experience in long-term care and in-service education or teaching skills required
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to collaborate effectively at all organizational levels
Enthusiasm for resident needs and quality assurance
Physical stamina to perform duties at an established standard of excellence
This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. To maintain a safe work environment and ensure clear communication, employees must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English at an intermediate or advanced level.
