- Has completed the Modular Education Program for activity Professionals “MEPAP”; or a bachelor’s degree in recreation therapy; or is an occupational therapist, COTA, CRT, AT-BC (art therapist), MT-BC (music therapist) or has another clinical degree
- Certification in dementia and/or behavior management (e.g. CDT) required
- Certification as a Dementia trainer in Crisis Prevent Management (within first year of hire)
- Demonstrated computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and web-based applications
- Qualified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist or an Activities professional preferred
- Experience in state and federal requirements and documentation preferred
Demonstrated supervisory experience preferred
- This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. In order to ensure a safe work environment for residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors of the Company, and to permit unfettered communication between the employee and those residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors, this position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.
