Activity Leader Position Overview:

Activity Leader Responsibilities:

• Assist the Director of Activities in planning and executing the activity program.

• Approach residents on assigned units to plan individual recreational and social activities; report resident response and cooperation to the Director of Activities.

• Prepare resident information for use in care planning and documentation; write progress notes as assigned.

• Develop and maintain good relationships with community resources to enhance the activities program.

• Maintain departmental inventory of equipment and supplies.

• Keep attendance records and prepare reports as required.

Activity Leader Qualifications:

• Minimum 18 years of age required.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Valid New York Driver’s License with a clean driving record required.

• Ability to build positive relationships with staff, volunteers, families, and visitors.

• Ability to inspire and motivate others; create a warm and accepting environment for residents.

• Ability to adapt and modify activities to meet resident needs.

• Strong understanding of residents’ rights and needs.

• Physical stamina required for constant activity.
