What You’ll Do:
As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for our employees. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing payroll processes, including timekeeping, wage calculations, and deductions.
  • Verifying payroll data for accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Responding to payroll-related inquiries and resolving discrepancies.
  • Collaborating with HR and finance teams across the facility portfolio to maintain payroll records.
  • Staying current on payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance.

  • Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of federal and state payroll laws.

Work Arrangement:

  • Initial Phase: The first month will be onsite, full-time, allowing you to become familiar with the team, workflows, and organizational culture.
  • Ongoing: After the initial onboarding period, the role transitions into a hybrid model, with a flexible remote work component balanced with occasional in-office days as needed.

Responsibilities

Payroll Specialist:

  • Perform daily payroll department operations
  • Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
  • Execute Kronos time and attendance processing and interface with payroll
  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate reports
  • Understand proper taxation of employee benefits
  • Process garnishment calculations and compliance
  • Run ad hoc financial and operationally reporting as needed
  • Process manual checks when needed
  • Respond timely to facility and employee questions
  • Perform other work duties as assigned by the Director of Payroll

 

Qualifications

Payroll Specialist:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  •  3 or more years’ experience working in payroll
  • Strong PC skills including proficiency in Excel
  • Decision-making, problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Organizational, multi-tasking and prioritizing skills
  • Strong work ethic and team player
  • This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. In order to ensure a safe work environment for residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors of the Company, and to permit unfettered communication between the employee and those residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors, this position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.
