Housekeeping & Laundry Aide: Hybrid/Cross-Training Included - Full-Time

$14.20 / Hourly - $20.28 / Hourly (Earn more with more experience!)

Elderwood at Amherst is seeking a reliable and respectful Housekeeping & Laundry Aide (hybrid role) to assist our 92-bed Skilled Nursing facility centrally located in Amherst, NY (at the corder of Bailey Avenue & Eggert Road). This position cross-trains for both Laundry and Housekeeping duties. Part time & Full time opportunities available. 

 

Shift Options:

• Days: 6a-2p
• Evenings: 2p-10p

Position Overview:

• Our facilities' pleasant decor and amenities create home-like comfort for all who live in them.  Housekeeping/Laundry Aide members keep individuals' rooms and gathering areas clean, tidy and attractive.
• Housekeeping/Laundry Aide team members assist with ensuring the health and well-being of our residents by providing laundry support. This position is responsible for caring for facility linens and personal clothing of residents in a variety of ways including collecting, laundering, folding and returning the fresh, clean linens/clothing to the designated locations.

• Maintain cleanliness of general areas and assigned rooms of residents.

• Help move personal belongings of residents and clean and disinfect floor, furniture, bed and bathroom according to accepted procedures when a resident is discharged or transferred to another room.

• Follow safety rules, and where applicable, maintain vigilance concerning fire regulations and hazards as stated in procedures.

• Practice infection control principles in cleaning methods and personal hygiene.

• Keep cleaning compounds and hazardous substances stored properly for the protection of residents and staff.

• Collect and dispose of trash and other refuse in such a manner that prevents the transmission of disease and does not create a nuisance or fire hazard, nor a breeding place for insects and rodents.

Base wages increase with experience!

USD $14.20/Hr.

USD $20.28/Hr.

• Minimum 16 years of age
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Custodial, janitorial, housekeeping and/or laundry experience preferred

*Individuals under 18 years of age must be excluded from the usage of dangerous equipment such as: compactors.
