Elderwood at Liverpool (formerly Birchwood) is searching for a skilled Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to aide our very busy 160 bed facility in Liverpool, NY. We are undergoing current construction to update our facility including investing in new state of the art equipment.

THe COTA Duties:

Elderwood at Liverpool is searching for a COTA team member to assist with ensuring the health and well-being of our residents by being responsible for carrying out occupational therapy treatments as developed and recommended by a Registered Occupational Therapist.


The COTA Requirements:

  • New York State Department of Education Certification and license to practice as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in New York State required.
  • Ability to relate well to residents and enjoy working with the elderly people necessary.
  • Tact and diplomacy; ability to develop good relationships with residents, staff and students required.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate others and create a warm and accepting climate for residents necessary.
  • Qualities of maturity, diplomacy, ability to work well with others required.
  • Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing required.
  • Ability to supervise departmental staff effectively and ensure that high standards of care are maintained.
  • Ability to perform tasks to established standards of excellence required.
  • Demonstrated willingness to uphold the vision and mission of the company by following the core values of Integrity, Teamwork, and Passion for Excellence and Reverence for the Individual
